Some nice fish

part of our gang
Rachel wore out the little guy.

2nd place - Mike Mollema 12.75lbs
(a little help from his friends)

1st place - Andrew Solomon & Steve Glowinski
13.02 lbs

Big Bass - Ryan Nims 4.18lbs

WOW!!!! What a tough night of fishing and trying to get out of the ramp. Despite the extra frustration from our friends at the ramp we still made it. Thanks Homer for assisting in getting their truck in and out.

Other than that it was just a pretty tough night!!! This year seems to have been tough overall for many of us. Oh well, that is fishing and there is always the next lake or tomorrow to do better. (That sounded like the Detroit Lions motto)

Anyway, our last regular season tournament is in the books and we are looking forward to our divisional championship on Brendel Lake.

Thankyou to all of you for fishing division 40. As we say all the time, we feel that we have the best division in NBAA and it is because of the anglers that fish with us.

Andrew Solomon and Steve Glowinski have been on a role this season and came to the scales again with some nice fish. 1st place went to them with 13.02 lbs, 2nd place, fishing alone, went to Mike Mollema with 12.75lbs. NICE!!!! Ryan Nims had a beautiful large mouth weighing 4.18 lbs. for the last big bass honors of the regular season and the traveling trophy.

Thanks for a GREAT SEASON, we are already working on plans for next year and look forward to seeing all of you.

Last time this year at Pontiac Lake- August 10

I have never seen this before
I thought the van was going to get stuck

Lots of boats
The bumb board is always used at Pontiac Lake
Wow! What a big fish Jason!
3rd Place - Paul & Josh Cowen
2nd BB - Chris Schultes 2.52
2nd Place - Mark Semple & E.J. Martin - 9.33 lbs
1st Place - Zdeb & Schultes 9.75 lbs
Big Bass - Sandy Alfaro 2.68 lbs

Well it is hard to believe that Pontiac Lake is in the rear view mirror for the last time this season. Once again it was a good night of fishing and all had fun.
The first place team was Derek Zdeb and Chris Schultes with a nice weight of 9.75 lbs. Not to bad for fishing out of a Triton eh... Second place went to the team of Mark Semple and E.J. Martin with a limit weighing 9.33 lbs out of a Nitro boat and with a sub. Pretty nice effort Mark and E.J. Third place went to Paul and Joshua Cowen out of their Skeeter boat. Good thing Josh was on fire and caught some fish to anchor their team.
Second place big bass went to Chris Schultes with a nice 2.52 lb. large mouth and First place big bass went to Sandy Alfaro with a beauty weighing 2.68 lbs.
Don't forget that we are not fishing next week but will be on Lake Oakland on August 24th at which time we will be announcing the location of the championship. Only those that have fished 8 or more tournaments during the regular season will be qualified to fish the championship. If you are on the bubble don't miss Lake Oakland. See you there.

Very Windy Night at Cass Lake - August 3

Fishing pow wow

Launching

Getting ready to blast off

Paul doing "blast" off from the boat
Seems more like a crawl than a blast

3rd Place - Team Kopczyk

2nd Place BB - Chris Cucksey 3.27lbs

2nd place Team Cucksey/Montney 8.14 lbs

1st Place Team Zdeb/Schultes - 9.93 lbs

1st BB - Chuck Standhardt - 4.80 lbs
Let the winds blow and they did!!!!!!! What a crazy windy night but we didn't get rained out and that was a blessing for sure.
Cass Lake is tough enough, but throw in the 30 mph winds and was down right brutal!!!!! Despite all, everyone braved the weather and off we went to go fishing.
Congradulations to the team of Zdeb and Schultes with a nice weight of 9.93 lbs. for 1st place. 2nd place went to Mr. Cucksey and Mr. Montney with 8.14 lbs. and 3rd place went to Kopczyk and Kopczyk with 8.07 lbs.
Big bass and the traveling trophy went to Chuck Standhardt with a nice 4.80 lb. and 2nd place big bass went to Chris Cuksey with a 3.27 lb. smallie. Good Job Guys!!!!
Next week we are on Pontiac Lake and look forward to seeing everyone out. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and the fish will too.
Thanks to all that fished on Cass Lake and this season, we appreciate you and all of our sponsors.
See you next Monday night.
Sorry everyone,
I seem to be a week behind and can't catch up.
I'll do my best this week.

White Lake, a tight fit - July 27

Thank you Terry - You Rock!

35 boats and almost not enough parking!

110 fish caught

Nice crowd, lots of mosquitoes

2nd Place - Louie King & Ryan Nims 14.24 lbs

2nd Big Bass - Brad White 4.29 lbs

1st Place - Matt Malmquist & Nate Barr 14.49lbs

1st Big Bass - Chris & Derrek 4.60 lbs
(Since they didn't know who actually caught the big one.)

Well, we told you that there would be another parking challenge to conquer!!!! Thanks to everyone for working with us to get all of the boats parked safely. We especially want to thank Terry Horak for all of his help and valeting of the trucks and trailers. It helps that Terry seems to know absolutely everyone in White Lake and we truly appreciate that for sure. Also, a big thanks to Gary from the DNR for all of his help and cooperation in letting us get the boats into the water and launched on time.

Despite the creative parking the night was a good one for fishing. The weather was perfect, the water was good and the mosquito's were especially hungry if you didn't notice.

Matt Malmquist and Nate Barr seem to have this lake down recently. Congratulations guys on a nice weight of 14.49 lbs and a big bass of 3.32 lbs. They didn't get first place big bass, but they did get that first place win overall and the points to go with it. Not to far behind them were the team of Louie King and Ryan Nims for second place with a nice sack of fish weighing in at 14.24 lbs. and a big bass of 3.80 lbs. Third place went to Mr. Ed Schiller and Mr. Don Patton with 13.40 lbs and a nice big bass of 4.24 lbs.

Big bass honors and the traveling trophy went to Derrek Zdeb and Chris Schultes and weighed 4.60 lbs. They weren't sure who caught the fish so they both get their picture on the blog. Second big bass went to Brad White with another nice large mouth weighing in at 4.29 lbs. Nice job gentlemen, and Brad we were glad you and Aaron "Smiley" Kuschel were able to fish with us on White Lake. We hope to see you again before the end of the season.

Next week we are on Cass Lake and the parking will allow your director to keep his blood pressure under control as there should be plenty of room. Be safe and have a fantastic week, see you on Monday.

3 fish over 5lbs! - July 20

Getting ready to fish

Josh and Ty sitting down on the job

NOT a "Waste-a-day" Lake

2nd Place - Mark Semple & Alex Cataldo 14.96 lbs.
(Sorry Alex, didn't mean to cut off part of your head)

2nd Big Bass - Steve Glowinski 5.21 lbs

1st Place - Andrew Solomon and Steve Glowinski 16.91lbs

1st Big Bass - Mike Mortensen 5.40 lbs

Maceday Lake always proves to be a challenge both with parking and fishing. Regardless both seemed to go well as everyone found a spot to park (thanks to the church) and we had a good number of fish come to the scales.
With 3 fish over 5 lbs. from 3 different teams and a big bag of 16.91 lbs the fishing was on.
Congratulations to the team of Solomon and Glowinski with the 1st place fish weighing 16.91 and the second place big bass of 5.21 lbs. These guys have been on a roll lately and appear to be moving up on the leader board.
Second place went to Semple and Cataldo(sorry again about the picture Alex) with 14.96 lbs. with a big bass of 3.84 lbs. Third place was a nice sack of fish caught by the team of George and Crane with 13.19 lbs. and a big bass of 5.05 lbs.
We want to thank the church for once again allowing us to use the parking lot to house the boats and to hold the weigh in. If it were not for them we would not be able to fish this lake any longer. We also want to thank Bob and Tracey from the DNR ramp for all of their help and cooperation in getting us into the water and parked.
We are on White Lake next week and look forward to another good turn out and another parking challenge but with a little cooperation I am sure it will all go well. Have a great week and we will see you on Monday.
